The Institue was first established as a Uiseong Peony Experiment Station in 1992 and changed it’s name to Uiseong Medicinal Herb Experiment Station in 1998, Institute for Natural Products Research in 2002, and Organic Agriculture Research Institute in 2013 as mission changes by farmer’s demand.
The Institute consists of 5.5ha with facilities of 47,925㎡ research plots, three greenhouses, and office buildings. Major duties are researches on sustainable organic agriculture, soil conserving cropping practices, and dissemination of organic farming technologies. Research works are focused on developing organic farming model system, soil conserving cropping system, organic plant protection materials, and edible nano-coating for food preservation.
